TEN COUNTIES

The Womens Senior team played the annual Ten Counties match on Monday 16th September. The event was hosted by Berkshire this year and held at Mill Ride Golf Club, Ascot.

With a practice round on Sunday the course was found to be tricky requiring accurate placement of drives, and difficult undulating greens which were very difficult to read and very easy to three putt.

On Monday the team played extremely well and secured 4th place behind the winners Sussex.The best placement for some time for Essex. There was in fact only 6 points between 1st and 4th place.

With thanks to Mill Ride GC for a very smooth running event and Jane Sly the Berkshire Captain and her team for looking after us so well.

Essex were represented by;

Julie Finegan (Captain) - Chigwell GC and Gill Haysham, Sara Dunn and Tiff Wade - Chelmsford GC.
