HARRIS BOWL FINAL

The final of this year’s Harris Bowl Final took place at Gosfield Lake on Sunday 13th October between Crondon Park & Lexden Wood. 

It was a lovely sunny morning, although rather chilly, but all the players wrapped up to keep warm with the first pair teeing off at 12.04. 

At halfway point the scores were very close with Crondon up in 2 matches and the other three matches all square. Crondon improved their lead over the next few holes and after the 14th were up in all five matches with it looking most likely that they would be taking the trophy home.

Match one secured the first win, followed closely match two.  The results for matches four and five came in at exactly the same time to securing the win for Crondon. The players in match 3 called it a half making the final score 4 1/2 - 1/2 to Crondon Park.

The Harris Bowl Trophy was presented by Gill Hathaway, Trustee of the Federation of the Essex Women’s Institute, who kindly sponsor this competition each year.

Thank you to Gosfield Lake who hosted the final. Also to all the referees, County Captain Elaine Davidson and County President Nicola Thomas for their help and support on the day.
