I'm delighted to report that the Essex Senior Ladies team are the Eastern Region League title owners for the second year running. The final results were once again very close with Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk all finishing with 5 points. Again the result went to count back on games won and with Essex securing 13.5 games and Hertfordshire securing 13 points it was a win for Essex by a halved game. Once again very fine margins which just goes to show the quality of the golf played by all the Counties and how important it is to fight for every point or half point.
Every single match was played in such a great spirit and many friendships made. We played two super courses away to Hertfordshire at East Herts and to Cams and Hunts at Brampton Park. Two excellent courses in fabulous condition. I must also thank Chigwell GC, the board and management team for allowing me to host our home matches there.
With planning already started for next years matches, I'm delighted to announce that Bedfordshire will be joining the league. The Counties involved next year, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambs and Hunts, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
Once again with thanks to Chigwell GC, ELCGA, and the following team representatives;
Julie Finegan ( Captain) - Chigwell GC, Gill Haysham, Sara Dunn, Tiff Wade and Sue Boom - Chelmsford GC, Sophie Walters - Wanstead GC, Wendy Cook - Colne Valley GC, Amanda Colgate-Herbert, Joan Smith and Jo Rumsey - Rochford Hundred GC, Kate Gadsby - Chigwell GC, Paula Wendlesken - Abridge GC.
